本研究では,都心の業務地区を利用する歩行者に必要な空間を確保するための調査・解析を行なった。調査は,業務地区での地上と地下の連絡路(段階)における歩行者流動の実態調査,業務地区での交差点における歩行者流動の実態調査を行なった。また,それぞれについて解析を行ない,地上と地下の連絡路における平均歩行速度,密度等の算出,ならびに交差点における平均歩行速度,待時間,密度等を解析した。また,地上と地下の連絡路における歩行者流動の実態調査では,階段だけしか扱えなかったので,地上と地下の連絡路の変わりに階段とエスカレーターが並列に設置されている地点として地上とスカイウエイの連絡路における歩行者流動の実態調査を行い,利用状況の変化を捉らた。しかしながら,実際に調査した結果は,数量的なものであるため,今後は,利用者の意識調査を行なうことにより,歩行者空間の必要性を明確なものに位置づける必要があると考えられる。
