Geochemical research has been done on the Obira type tin mineralization in Kyushu, from the aspect of the relationship between magmatism and mineralization. The following knowledge were obtained through this research project.1. The chlorine content of granitic rock closely related with mineralization is relatively high. The magma is also expected to be rich in chlorine during crystallization.2. The hydrous minerals that precipitated at early stage of mineralization are remarkably rich in chlorine. It suggests that the primary ore solution was also high in chlorine.3. Chlorine content of hydrous minerals in ore decreases steeply with advancing the mineralization, in spite of almost same in fluorine. It suggests that metal-chlorine-bearing magmatic was diluted with meteoritic pure water, and that metal precipitated by the decomposition of complex with chlorine.
