项目摘要

本年度は、前年度の成果の上に、インフォーマルな集合活動の行われる空間を、人間の動き方・分布等によって整理し、その中から、実験対象空間として、デパート通路スペース、駅コンコース、空港待ち合いスペース、プラザ、美術館展示空間、小学校オープンスペースと体育館をとりあげ、(1)シュミレーション活動による活動者・対象の実験、(2)各種インフォーマル活動空間をVTRで撮影した画像による実験室においての連続評価実験、(3)シュミレーション活動空間のVTR画像による連続評価実験を行った。(1)の実験においては、密度・静止者と歩行者の割合・静止者の姿勢及び分布などを変化させた26種類のシュミレーション活動を設定し、そこで実際に活動している人の密度感に対する心理的評価を得た。その結果、静止者と歩行者の混在の比率が1:1〜1〜1:3で良い評価が得られ、また、歩行者の占める空間がまとまっている程、静止者が拡散分布している程、いずれも密度感が低いなど多くの知見を得ることができた。(2)(3)の実験においては、空間の実際の集合活動の変化に対する心理・意識を動的密度感と定義し、これを計測するためにVTRモニターに写し出される実験サンプルに対する心理評価をキーボードから連続的に入力できるシステムをつくり、評定実験を行った。その結果動的密度感には、密度・分布の他歩行者の速度や方向性も寄与していることが確かめられると共に、活動の状況に応じた好ましい密度感の得られる空間ー活動量を提案した。なお(3)の実験では、実験室での評価と(1)の実験の被験者の評定の比較を行なったが、実験室での評定のほうが物理量の変動に鋭敏に反応していることがわかった。動的密度感を扱うことにまで本研究を発展させることにより、人間の動きを含む空間の物理的状況と心理的評価の関係をかなり明確にとらえるとができたと思う。
