七・八世紀の粘土紐・粘土板桶巻作り軒平瓦の製作工程復原による工人系譜関係の研究

项目摘要

桶巻作り軒平瓦の製作工程について具体的に復原した。まず粘土紐接合における外傾接合から、軒平瓦の顎部は粘土円筒に巻きつける段階では円筒の下位に位置することを確認した。つまり藤原宮の粘土紐桶巻作り軒平瓦では、粘土紐相互は外傾接合であるから、顎部ははじめ桶および粘土円筒の下位に位置しなければならず、木製笵型によって同じ文様を3〜4回押すために、粘土円筒を桶と共に上下反転させ、その後に上から施文することが要点である。次に、姫寺跡出土重弧文軒平瓦について検討を行ない、4重弧文の押し引きの方向と、平瓦部凸面および顎部にみられる削り・ナデの方向が逆方向であることから、粘土円筒を上下反転させてから文様面に施文したことを確認した。以上の方式を粘土円筒反転式の軒平瓦と呼ぶなら、ごくわずかではあるが逆円錐台形桶式の軒平瓦もあることがわかった。後者の実例は藤原宮出土の6647Cである。次に平城宮初期の桶巻作り軒平瓦の検討をおこない、瀬後谷瓦窯の粘土紐桶巻作りの工人が、先行する藤原宮の時期の日高山・高合峰寺・安養寺裏山瓦窯のうちのいずれかの粘土紐桶巻作りの工人の系譜に直接つながるのに対し、中山瓦窯では粘土紐桶巻作りと粘土板桶巻作りの二つの工人の系譜が併存し、後に両者が融合されるであろうことが想定できる。最後に、筑前と尾張の粘土紐桶巻作り軒平瓦の検討をおこない、それぞれ、藤原宮や平城宮初期の桶巻作り軒平瓦と密接な関連があることが確認できた。なお、製作工程復原と共に同笵関係の認定が必要になってきたので、七・八世紀の大和の軒瓦と、筑前・豊前・伊予・備前・丹波・近江・河内・伊勢・伊賀・播磨・下野などの軒瓦との同笵関係の認定をおこなった。
