The purpose of this study is to make clear quantitatively the appearance frequency and the occupation rate of each species which constructs the stand. It is recognized that 1. The standing crop is not influenced by topographic factors. 2. The occupation rates of Picea jezoensis Carr.and Quercus mongolica Turcz.increase on gentle slopes, the rates of Betula maximowicziana Regel and Tilia japonica Simk.increase on steep slopes. 3. The occupation rates of Abies sachalinensis Mast.and Picea glehnii Mast.increase on slopes facing south.the rates of Cercidiphyllum japoicum S.et Z.and Acer mono Max.var.glabrum Hara increase on slopes facing north. 4. The number of surviving trees increase on steep slopes and on slopes facing south.
