本研究は、まだ活字化されていない西大寺文書の調査とその分析によって、中世の叡尊教団を総体的に明らかにすることを目的としていた。そのため、六度、奈良西大寺の調査を行なった。その結果、「比丘尼灌頂日記」、「西大寺結縁灌頂日記」、「女人出家作法」などの従来全く存在が知られなかった叡尊教団による女人救済関係史料群を発見でき、叡尊教団が密教の重要な儀礼である伝法灌頂を尼へも行なっていたことなどを明らかにすることができた。その成果は拙稿「鎌倉新仏教と女人救済--叡尊教団による尼への伝法灌頂」(『仏教史学研究』三七一二)にまとめた。また、「授菩薩戒勤策戒并授菩薩戒式叉尼戒」、「天正二年円空戒牒」などの叡尊教団の授戒関係史料を見出すことができた。その結果、叡尊教団が僧尼や在家信者にどのような授戒を行なっていたのかを明らかにすることができた。その成果は、平成七年九月刊行予定の拙著『勧進と破戒の中世史』(吉川弘文館)にまとめた。また、「西大寺田園目録」などの写真を入手することができたので、『西大寺叡尊伝記集成』所収「田園目録」の翻刻ミスの訂正を行なった。現在は、「田園目録」を使って叡尊教団の信者層の分析を行なっている。

This study aims to investigate and analyze the history of the Western Temple and the history of the Middle Ages. Investigations were carried out at Sōnota, Liudu, and Nara Saidai Temple. The results,"Diary of Bhikshuni's initiation,""Diary of Nishi-ji's initiation,""The practice of women becoming monks," and "The existence of all kinds of historical data on the relationship between women's salvation and Buddhism" are revealed. The important rituals of Esoteric Buddhism in the Esoteric Church are revealed. The results of the study are as follows: "The New Religion of Kakura, the Women's Rescue-- The historical records of the relationship between the Buddha's precepts and the Buddha's precepts in the second year of Tianzheng are shown in this paper. As a result, the monks and nuns of the religious community were given the right to be religious. The results of the publication were published in September of the seventh year of Heisei, and the book "History of the Middle Ages"(Yoshikawa Hirofumi Museum) was published. The revised version of the cultivated land catalogue included in the "Xidaiji cultivated land catalogue" was published in "Xidaiji cultivated land catalogue". Now, the "cultivated land directory" enables the analysis of the believer layer of the religious community.
