1.カナダ経済構造の把握に努め、その結果、(1)小麦の主要生産・輸出国で農業国である、(2)鉱物資源が豊富で原料生産国である、(3)製造業では鉄鋼や製紙業が主たるもので、付加価値額では製紙業が最大の位置を占めた、(4)製紙業発展の主たる原因は豊富なパルプ資源の存在である、等がより鮮明となり、工業国というよりは農業国、資源国の印象を深めた。2.カナダ製紙業における米国資本の位置の確定に努めた。特にインターナショナル・ペ-パ-社の資本蓄積活動に焦点を当て、資本調達方法や生産した新聞用紙の米国への輸出動向等を分析した。3.カナダ鉱業におけるインターナショナル・ニッケルやアルコ・ア(アルミ)の資本蓄積活動、鉱業・製紙業以外での米国系企業の活動を分析した。4.米国の対カナダ証券投資、特にカナダ国債・地方債の米国での起債状況および引受機関を解明し、特にそれら引受機関とカナダ進出の米国系製紙企業との資本的・資金的・人的関係を検討した。
