I.Study on improving durabilityThe main results are as follows :(1) Scaling of concrete with air-content 8% was controlled in tidal range and splash zone.(2) Concrete units used with (1) Ordinary Portland Cement (2) B types of Portland fly ash cement and (3) Ordinary Portland cement added with 15% silica fume have greater scaling resistance.(3) The case of lower water cement ratio and early strength cement can controll scaling of concrete because the strength of concrete in the beginning of freeze-thaw is important factor.II.Prediction of Service life of concrete structure in cold sea environmentThe purpose of this study is to examine deterioration prediction of concrete structure by non-liner exponential function and reliability function. The data of RC model specimens during rapid freeze-thaw tests and exposure tests, large specimens during exposure tests at Okhotsk shoreline, and mortal specimens during tensile strength test were analyzed. The analysis results are able to predict the reaching time to a level of deterioration quantitatively.
