Studies on injury of leaf and floral petal by acid rain.

1)对59种植物进行了模拟酸雨对叶片的伤害研究。在pH为2.5、pH为2.0和pH为1.5.2条件下，分别有11种、42种和55种植物遭受了叶片损伤。1991 ~ 1995年5年间测定了Kurashiki雨水的电导率（EC）和pH值（pH值），分别在pH值4.5 ~ 4.0、pH值3.5 ~ 3.0、pH值2.5 ~ 2.0和pH值分别为6种、17种、29种和44种。仓市录得的雨水pH值最高为4.0-4.5。5年降水平均pH值为4.38，最高pH值为7.0，最低pH值为3.3。99%的阴雨天出现了pH值低于5.5的酸雨。雨水EC的最频繁范围为20 ~ 40 uS/cm（占总阴雨天的40%）。

1) Leaf injury by simulated acid rain was examined in the 59 species of plants. The leaf injury was observed in 11 species at pH 2.5, in 42 species at pH 2.0, in 55 species at pH 1.5.2) Injury of floral petal by simulated acid rain was examined in the 44 species of plants. The injury was observed in 6 species at pH 4.5-4.0, in 17 species at pH 3.5-3.0, in 29 species at pH 2.5-2.0, in 44 species at pH 1.5-1.0.3) pH and electric conductivity (EC) of rain water at Kurashiki were measured during 5 years from 1991 to 1995.The most frequent pH of rain water recorded at Kurashiki was 4.0-4.5. The rain water sampled during the 5 year period had a mean pH of 4.38, the highest pH was 7.0 and the lowest was 3.3. The so-called "acid rain" which hada pH value lower than 5.5, was observed on 99% of the total rainy days. The most frequent range of EC of rain water was 20-40 uS/cm (40% of total rainy days).
