The project will focus on the on-water surface synthesis of single-/few-layer (< 10 layers) porphyrin-based 2DPs with large crystalline domains (μm2) via dynamic covalent bonds by soft-template-assisted method. Moreover, the corresponding structural characterization and reaction mechanism will be elucidated. Special focus will be given to the understanding of the role of soft-templates for the synthesis of 2DPs and to address the controllable stacking of the monomers, the defect repairing, the enhancement of the polymerization degree, etc.
