The three-dimensional structures of the dental arch and palate of the Mongoloid populations were described from dental anthropological point of view. The materials used were plaster casts of maxillary dentitions (Japanese male : 52, female : 51 ; Filipino male : 53, female : 56 ; Yami tribe male : 48, female : 42). Photographs of the casts were studied moire topographical method with a grid interval of 1mm.The results were summarized as follows :1. The arch widths were shown larger sexual dimorphism than the arch lengths. Japanese had largest arch dimensions in the three populations. Yami tribe had relatively large arch widths, whose absolute sizes were almost the same as Japanese.2. Sexual dimorphism of the palatal vault heights showed larger in the posterior region than in the anterior. The palatal vault heights of Yami tribe had the largest values, followed by those of Filipino, and those of Japanese which were the least. On the frontal plane Japanese was shown more inclination from the cervical area to the midplane than the other two populations.3. The suitable measurements of the arch dimension and palatal vault heights for the investigation of the population variability were selected.(1) Arch dimensions Size : arch chords and length, Shape : arch widths(2) Palatal vault heights Size : anteroposterior palatal vault inclination, Shape : lateral palatal vault inclination
从牙齿人类学的角度描述了蒙古族人群牙弓和腭的三维结构。所用材料为上颌牙列石膏模型(日本男性:52,女性:51 ;菲律宾男性:53,女性:56 ;雅美部落男性:48,女性:42)。采用莫尔形貌法对铸型进行了研究,网格间距为1 mm。牙弓宽度的性别差异大于牙弓长度。日本人的牙弓尺寸在三个人群中最大。雅美族的牙弓宽度较大,其绝对尺寸与日本人相近.腭穹隆高度的性别差异表现为后部大于前部。雅美族腭穹隆高度值最大,菲律宾族次之,日本族最小。在额面上,日本人从颈区到正中面的倾斜度大于其他两个人群.选择了适合于调查群体变异的牙弓尺寸和腭穹隆高度的测量值。(1)拱形尺寸尺寸:弓弦和长度,形状:弓宽(2)腭穹隆高度大小:前后腭穹隆倾斜,形状:侧腭穹隆倾斜
