1.埼玉県秩父市の矢尾喜兵衛家所蔵の近世史料をマイクロフィルムに撮影し、江戸後期の一揆、秩父事件等との関わりあいを関連地方図書館で調査した。2.滋賀県日野町の矢尾本家の史料調査を実施し、蔵から搬出することを許可されたので、目下史料整理を継続中である。3.論文「近江商人矢尾喜兵衛家の年中行事と作善-武州秩父店の場合-」を執筆し、脱稿した。4.夏期休暇を利用して、カナダにおける第二次大戦前の滋賀県出身絹布商「シルコライナー」の経営者桑原家の史料調査を、カルガリ-市内で実施し、経営史料の一部閲覧に成功した。「シルコライナー」の経営実態については、今後さらに、現地における史料の収集につとめる予定である。5.滋賀県の彦根や五個荘町、滋賀・京都に散在する三中井関係の生存者からの聴取調査を実施した。現在、三中井の経営史料の分析を実施中であり、1996年5月の九州大学における社会経済史学会の大会で報告するための準備を進めている。6.伊藤忠兵衛家の明治期の史料を調査し、西日本における活動状況を現地の図書館等において調査した。
