Topic I: the fabrication of multi-pass caliber-rolled AZ31 alloyI gave a presentation about my results in the international academic conference of 'Seventh International Conference on Nanomaterials by Severe Plastic Deformation (NanoSPD7)' held in Sydney, Australia. The title was 'Microstructural Evolution and Mechanical Improvement of AZ31 Bulk Rod via Multi-Pass Caliber-Rolling Process'. The presentation received much attentions and I got various comments for the future work. It is of particular note that some researchers raised question about the extreme deterioration in mechanical properties between the caliber-rolling of 7th and 8th passes. I agree with their claims to thoroughly confirm the entire experiments under these conditions before submitting my work.Topic II: the cryogenic mechanical properties of multi-pass caliber-rolled AZ31 alloyI have also obtained the tensile data of caliber-rolled AZ31 rod deformed at cryogenic temperature (~150 K). The results, however, look insufficient to publish before carrying out a lot amount of additional experiments and analyses. This research project has been halted due to the reasons which had been submitted earlier, and thus the continue of these studies would be in veil for a while.
