Socio-historical and Comparative Sociological Study on the Internet Cafe in East and Southeast Asian Countries

根据对东京、大阪、北京、天津、上海、香港、新加坡、曼谷、马尼拉等东亚和东南亚国家大都市网吧的实地调查，(1)我在每个城市的地图上反映了350多家网吧。(2)通过对以上调查收集到的网吧数据进行分析，并通过对网吧店主和顾客的访谈，描述了各城市网吧的社会历史，明确了网吧使用的特殊性。(3)通过与香港和新加坡外来务工人员使用网吧的比较，论证了当代日本“网吧南民”问题的核心是“私人包间”。

From the field survey on the Internet cafe at metropolises of East and Southeast Asian countries such as Tokyo, Osaka, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Manila, (1) I reflected more than 350 Internet cafes on the map of each city. (2) By analyzing collected data on Internet cafes form above survey and interviews from shopkeepers and customers of them, I described the social history of the Internet cafe in each city and clarified the specificity of Internet cafe uses in it. (3) I demonstrated that the core of a problem of "net cafe nanmin" in contemporary Japan is "private booth" by comparing with the Internet cafe use of migrant workers in Hong Kong and Singapore.
