The purpose of this study is to show "What impact do from the formation of the compact city to local finance" using empirical analysis. Select data used in analysis that reflects the interviews with local governments and civic organizations. The first analysis using state data showed that the rise of population density in "Densely Inhabited District" can reduce the both cost for road maintenance and new road project. And the second using city data showed that the increase of urban area residents and the increase of retailer (floor space) at the mall can't reduce for the cost of city office, and the increase of The number of urban planning that exist in one city and Percentage in urban street bring the increase of the city cost. And the Percentage of urban street for the all road in the city brings same result. Finally, through these analyses, I showed that the formation of "compact city" isn't necessarily always make government spending reduction.

本研究的目的是通过实证分析来说明“紧凑型城市的形成对地方财政有何影响”。选择用于分析的数据，反映与地方政府和民间组织的访谈。第一次使用国家数据的分析表明，人口密度的增加在“密集居住区”可以减少道路维修和新的道路项目的成本。第二部分利用城市数据进行实证分析，结果表明，城市居民数量的增加和商业街零售商（建筑面积）的增加并不能降低城市办公成本，城市规划数量的增加和城市街道所占比例的增加带来了城市办公成本的增加。城市街道占城市道路总数的比例也得到了同样的结果。最后，通过这些分析，说明了“紧凑城市”的形成并不一定总是使政府支出减少。
