项目摘要

本研究は、啓蒙期フランスにおける教育可能性をめぐる思想の特徴とその形成過程を、同時代の自然誌研究からの影響に着目して明らかにしようとするものである。具体的には、18世紀フランスを代表する自然誌学者であるビュフォン（G. -L. L. De Buffon, 1707-1788）の教育論が、同時代の哲学者や医学者らによる教育論ともった接点の検討から両者の相違と相似を明らかにし、また相互の影響関係を跡づける作業を通して、本課題に取り組んでいる。これまで、（１）ビュフォン初期の論考「人間の本性について」における教育可能性をめぐる考察の検討、（２）「子ども期について」における母乳哺育擁護論と同時代の医学者らによる言説の関係の検討、（３）同テクストにおける巻き産衣批判のルソーとの比較検討の成果を論文としてまとめ、それぞれが学内外の査読付学術誌に掲載された（『早稲田大学大学院教育学研究科紀要別冊』、『フランス教育学会紀要』、『日仏教育学会年報』）。これまでの研究の主たる成果としては、少なくとも1740-50年代のビュフォン思想において、教育可能性はつねに人間と動物の境界をめぐる問題構制のなかで問われていること、そのさい、教育可能性はもっぱら被教育者の属性として論じられており、ルソーら同時代の思想家による教育論への影響もこの論点に限定できそうであることを、テクストに即して実証できたことが挙げられる。

This study focuses on the characteristics and formation process of thoughts in the enlightenment period and the influence of contemporary natural history research. The concrete, 18th century, natural history scholars on behalf of G. -L. L.
