Validation of a Predictive model for progression of chronic kidney disease of unknown etiology (CKDu): Relationship between nutritional parameters and kidney failure

Ethical permission for the study was obtained. Two screening programs were conducted in the study area (Wilgamuwa, Sri Lanka) with the collaboration of the Centre for Research, Nephrology and Renal Transplant Unit at National Hospital, Kandy, Sri Lanka, to identify potential CKD/ CKDu patients. In addition, patients who are already registered in the Renal clinic in Wilgamuwa were recruited for the study. Age- and sex-matched controls were identified from the community sticking to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Required equipment (body composition analyzer and hand dynamometer) and consumables were bought and sent to Sri Lanka. Upon completing a thorough literature review, the original draft of the review article was prepared.
