体圧分散マットレス（以下、マットレス）は、身体とマットレスとの接触領域を包み、一点に加わる圧を低減することで褥瘡発生を予防する効果がある。マットレスの使用によって褥瘡発生を抑制するというエビデンスは多く、国内外のガイドラインでも褥瘡予防に対するマットレス使用が強く推奨されている。しかしながら、高齢者施設においては、適切にマットレスが導入されていないケースが見受けられる。本研究では、介護従事者を対象としたインタビュー調査およびアンケート調査を行い、具体的な問題点や改善策について明らかにすることを目的としている。現時点までに、大阪府・京都府内の3つの高齢者施設（グループホーム、特別養護老人ホーム、サービス付き高齢者住宅）において、介護従事者・医療者6名へのインタビュー調査を実施した。収集したインタビューデータを用いて、マットレスの適応状況や課題について、継続的比較にてテーマ分析を進めている。これまでの分析の結果、各施設の種類によって異なる問題が生じていることが明らかになっており、より多彩な課題が示唆されている。更により詳細かつ取りこぼしのなく課題を収集するため、引き続き、インタビュー調査にてデータの収集を続けていく。また、並行してアンケート調査に関する研究計画を進めている。インタビュー調査の結果からアンケート調査項目を検討・作成、また、実情に応じた対象者の絞り込みやアンケートの収集方法に関する検討を行っている。より多くの対象者にアンケート調査を行うことで、より実態に即した課題を明らかにし、マットレスの適切な使用に向けた具体的な改善策を提案することを目指している。
