项目摘要

2010年10月26日から同月29日まで開催された「第6回コロンビア考古学学会:『考古学、民族学、歴史学:国境の再考察』」に招聘者として参加し、ラテンアメリカ各国や欧米の参加研究者たちと有意義な意見交換をすることができた。また、他のシンポジウム発表の聴講を通して、日本人研究者とは異なる見解やアイデア、さらに、現在抱えている問題点を知る機会にもなった。日本からの唯一の参加者であることを考慮し、日本の文化遺産に対する考えとフィールドを実施しているメキシコでの現状を比較し、相違点と類似点を述べ、定義にいたる文化・社会背景の違いを明確にした。また、愛知県立大学・国際文化研究科(国際文化専攻)論集での出版論文作成を基に、本課題研究テーマと関連するメキシコ中央高原の古代社会動向を把握し、研究代表者の研究方法を明確にした。上記の学会参加並びに論文執筆を通して、今後メキシコで発掘調査を行う際、獲得される考古学データは古代史研究のみを対象とし考察されるのではなく、現代の社会コンテクストを射程に入れた研究、つまり、考古学データから文化遺産の再定義化にまで挑戦するデータ開示方向や解釈が必要とされることを再確認した。一方、スペイン語による現地メキシコ人考古学者らとの共同執筆からは、メキシコ考古学界の研究動向や研究課題の現状を知る契機となっただけでなく、日本を拠点とする研究代表者にとって、現地と密接な人脈を維持する機会にもなった。
