This study is on CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), which is agriculture that is known to support regions in the US. In particular, there is a focus on the aspect that the risks and benefits associated with the agricultural products are shared by the farms and consumers, and a comparison with programs in Japan has been attempted.As a result, it was found that there was a trend that in Japan, when consumers purchase agricultural products directly from the producer, the consumers are aware of financial advantages or material profits.On the other hand, in the US, there was an indication that there was a social foundation that brought about sympathy between the CSA farms and consumers. Specifically, there is work being done on consumer literacy in food by non-profit organizations, and it could be seen that this has contributed significantly tobuilding the relationships between the CSA farms and consumers.
