今年度は「思出の記」と「灰燼」について、劇化、映画化、ラジオドラマ化、などのメディアミックス現象を調査した。調査機関としては、国立劇場、国立映画アーカイブ、早稲田大学坪内博士記念演劇博物館、国立国会図書館（関西館）、蘆花恒春園、などである。「思出の記」については、国立劇場にて、昭和14年の劇化の際に重要な役を演じた花柳章太郎の所持台本を実見・撮影することができた。この台本を中心的な資料とし、絵本筋書や劇評なども併せて、総合的に興行の実態を分析して論考を成稿した。この調査の過程で、全国のいくつかの機関に蘆花原作劇の各種資料、特に台本が所蔵されることを発見した。今後の研究に活かす予定である。「灰燼」については、国立映画アーカイブや国立国会図書館（関西館）などで、蘆花没後に行われた劇化、映画化、そして「ラジオ物語」になった際の資料を調査した。この調査の過程で、夏川静江という女優と「灰燼」のメディアミックスが密接に結びついていたことを発見した。この調査結果をまとめ、来年度6月に学会発表をすることが決まっている。今年度の研究・調査を通して、作者（蘆花）の没後、多種多様なやり方で遺された作品が再創造されていく過程を浮かび上がらせることができた。それぞれのメディアミックスの個別の背景や文脈、ステークホルダーとの協議の過程など、作者の没後にも様々に展開していく作品のありようを検討することは、近代日本の文化現象として「蘆花文学」をとらえるひとつの視座になったように思う。
