2022年度は、まず3名の英語母語話者および1名の母語話者と同等の英語力を有する日本語母語話者の発話音声を録音し、どのような英語の非流暢性マーカーが頻繁に使用されているかを洗い出した。例えば、発話開始時には"So"や"OK"などが、発話中に言いよどむ際には、"um" "uh" "you know"などのフィラーに加えて、"What's the word?"のような自問発話が観察された。その後、7名の日本人英語学習者の英会話音声を、5回に渡って録音し、英語式のいい淀み方を指導した。具体的には、「質問（"Tell me about your summer holiday." "Do you have any bad habits?"など）に英語で答える」、「4コマ漫画を英語で説明する」「童話（『三匹の子豚』『白雪姫』など）を英語で要約する」などのタスクを課し、録音を行った。1回目の録音は、研究の目的を明かさずに実施した。2回目の録音開始前に研究目的を明かし、2・3・4回目の録音はトレーニングセッションとして、必要に応じて自然な英語の非流暢性マ―カーを使うよう指導を行った。例えば、「えー」「んー」の代わりに"um" "uh"を、「なんて言ったらいいんだろう」の代わりに"What's the word?" "How do I say?"など、英語母語話者の発話に見られた非流暢性マーカーを使用するよう促した。3回のトレーニングセッション終了後、効果を確かめるため、5回目の録音を行った。1回目と5回目の学習者による英語音声を、英語教員である英語母語話者に聞かせ、1から5のスケールで評価するよう求めた。5名の英語母語話者が参加予定であり、現在2名による評価が終了したところである。
