本年度は、豊臣奉行が発給した文書の収集を中心に行った。豊臣奉行のうちでも大谷吉継と寺沢広高が発給した文書に焦点を絞り収集を行った。具体的には、これまで刊行されている史料集や自治体史などから関係史料をピックアップしながら各地の博物館・資料館・図書館等に赴いて史料の写真などを収集し、翻刻と分析を行なった。併せて、発給文書の紙質にも留意しつつ調査を進めた。その結果、大谷吉継に関しては先行研究において、これまで指摘されていない花押の形を見出すことができた。そして、先行研究において大谷吉継の発給文書だと想定されている古文書に関して、花押の形や通称の用い方から、異なる人物に比定すべきという知見を得た。寺沢広高に関しても、活字化されていない発給文書で、長崎奉行としての活動の一端を垣間見ることができる文書を見出すことができた。また、寺沢広高の黒印が押された検地帳の類例を増やすことができた。こうした調査成果に基づきつつ、これまでの先行研究の成果を踏まえながら、大谷吉継と寺沢広高の発給文書目録の作成を進めている。この発給文書目録をもとにして、それぞれの古文書における通称や実名、花押・印判の変遷といった基礎的な分析を行っている。さらに、かかる作業によって収集した文書の内容を分析し、豊臣奉行の知行地支配の実態に関して究明を進めている。なお、本年度は史料調査に専念したため、豊臣奉行に関する研究成果を公表することができなかった。一方で、調査成果を援用し、豊臣奉行と同時代の大名である毛利氏に関する研究報告を行うことができた。
