本研究では，小・中学生であるヤングケアラーの不登校の支援を目的とし，これまで学校やスクールソーシャルワーカー等が携わったヤングケアラー支援の成功事例を分析し，ケースの初期段階，中期段階，後期段階の3段階のステップに分け，各支援者が各段階でどのような関わりや役割を担っているのかを明らかにする。さらに，ヤングケアラーである児童生徒が学校復帰に至る支援モデルの構築および各段階における支援のチェックリストのリーフレット作成を行う。具体的に，本研究で明らかにしようとすることは以下，2点である。1つ目は，ヤングケアラー支援の成功事例に関わった公立小・中学校に勤務する教員，スクールソーシャルワーカー等，合計20名以上を対象とするインタビュー調査を実施することである。ヤングケアラーの属性，実際に支援を行った期間，初期段階，中期段階，後期段階を尋ねる。録音データを基に，逐語記録を作成し，質的研究法で分析する。現段階では，インタビュー調査を行っており，逐語録の分析まで至っていない。2つ目は，インタビュー調査の成果を基に，支援モデルを構築し，ヤングケアラー支援チェックリストを作成する。コーディネーターや養護教諭を含むヤングケアラー支援者である教員，スクールカウンセラー, スクールソーシャルワーカー，合計約10名にインタビュー調査で得られた支援モデルとチェックリストについて意見を求める。これについては，インタビュー調査の分析を終えて，今年度行う予定である。
