Investigation of Japanese Students' Language Anxiety in English Speaking Classes

Present project aims to conduct data collection via online surveys and interviews. The following has been achieved:(1) Pilot reseach was conducted to verify the content of the surveys.(2) Based on the pilot survey results, the content of the survey was revised and UTokyo Etihcs committee has approved the data collection for surveys and interviews.(3) Data collection has been started and 49 people have participated in the survey.Currently, the collected data are being analyzed, and based on the preliminary results, the semi-structure interview questions will be prepared. The preliminary results of the survey will be presented at PanSIG conference on May, 14th, and the extended data analysis will be presented in November at 32nd Internation Symposium on English Teaching and Book Fair.
