本研究課題は、人名を中心とした固有名詞の想起に関連する脳内ネットワーク機構を明らかにすることを目的とする。加齢により人名など固有名詞の想起が困難となることは経験的にも広く知られており、そのメカニズムの解明は加齢現象を理解する一助となり、加齢のバイオマーカーの一つとして発展する可能性がある。固有名詞の喚語に関連する脳領域を探索するために、右利き健常者20名（平均30.9±8.8歳）を被験者として、機能的MRIにて固有名詞（有名人名、地名）、動物、「い」から始まる語を出来るだけ多く喚語する語想起課題を実施した。結果として、固有名詞（有名人名、地名）を語想起する時に特化した脳領域は左海馬、左上中側頭回前方領域、両側楔前部、両側角回であった。また有名人名に特化した領域は両側傍前帯状皮質、両側楔前部、左側紡錘状回であった。固有名詞の喚語には、従来より報告されている左側頭葉前方領域に加えて、左海馬、楔前部、角回などデフォルトモードネットワーク領域との関連性が示唆された。固有名詞を喚語する際には左海馬、左側頭葉前方領域、楔前部、両側角回領域のネットワークが関与し、左側頭葉前方領域の病変を有するの症例では、これらのネットワークの機能不全により、固有名詞の喚語能力の低下が出現する可能性が考えられた。
