The objective of this project is to develop a capillary device that can perform subcellular lipid profiling. This device will allow for minute sampling, lipid purification and separation, and nano electrospray ionization for mass spectrometry (MS) analysis. Our preliminary tests have shown that a lab-made capillary device can be used for standard lipid MS detection. The device successfully achieved minute sampling and nano electrospray ionization, which have been integrated into a single capillary device. Building on this promising outcome, we plan to integrate the function for lipid purification and separation into the capillary device as well.
