本邦で不妊治療が保険診療の対象になったこともあり、不妊治療の社会的関心が高まっている。不妊症の原因の半分は男性不妊であるが、大部分は原因不明である。近年、精液細菌叢と男性不妊の関連の報告が散見されるが、横断的研究のみであり、精液細菌叢については不明点も多い。本研究では精索静脈瘤と精液細菌叢に着目し、同一個人において精液細菌叢の変化を検討し、男性不妊に関与する精液細菌叢の同定、精液細菌叢の介した男性不妊発症メカニズムの解明を目的とする。最終的には精液細菌叢へ治療介入することによる精液所見の改善の可能性を検討することにより、男性不妊の個別化医療開発へとつなげる予定である。現在、当施設と当施設関連の男性不妊診療協力施設より精索静脈瘤患者のリクルートを行っており、精索静脈瘤手術前後の精液細菌叢を解析中である。
