本研究の目的は、地域高齢者の日常の発声とオーラルフレイルとの関連を明らかにすることである。発声するためには、口唇や舌、喉頭などの筋肉を使用し、これは摂食嚥下において使用する筋肉と共通している。そのため、高齢者が発声する機会の有無や程度は、声帯機能や口腔機能、嚥下機能の維持に影響し、オーラルフレイルに関連することが予測される。本研究では、オーラルフレイルの予防ニーズが高い地域高齢者を対象に、日常生活での発声の機会（どのような機会に、どのくらい発声しているか）、声帯機能、口腔機能、嚥下機能の実態調査を行い、その関連を明らかにする。令和4年度は、まず、日常の発声の機会をどのように調査するかを、先行文献等をもちいながら、老年看護の専門家の協力を得て検討した。繰り返し検討しながら、調査用紙を作成した。また、声帯機能の調査方法について、耳鼻咽喉科医師や言語聴覚士、また音声に関する研究を行っている理工学部教授に相談し、決定した。声帯機能は、普通騒音計を用いた音声エネルギーにより測定し、嚥下機能は改定水飲みテスト、咀嚼機能は舌圧測定器および咀嚼チェックガムの色調により測定することとした。その後、倫理委員会の承認を得て、同意が得られた３名の高齢者に対し、プレテストを実施した。プレテストにより、調査の実施可能性および測定方法の確認等を行った。プレテストの後、対象となる高齢者に、より負担が少ない方法で測定・調査ができるよう、調査方法を精錬した。そのような準備段階を経て、現在、同意が得られた通所事業所の利用者に対し、データ収集を行っている段階である。
