アンゴラ、南アフリカ、ウガンダそれぞれから大規模ヘルスデータであるDemographic and Health Surveyを入手し、解析に向けたデータクリーニング（対象集団の選定、欠損の対処など）を行った。その結果、各国からの対象者数はアンゴラが7,128名、南アフリカが2,047名、ウガンダが6,918名となった。しかし、アンゴラのデータでは近親者暴力のデータが完全には得られないことが判明し、そのためアンゴラを解析から除外し、結果的に南アフリカとウガンダを対象国としている。その後、データセットから曝露である障害、アウトカムである近親者暴力、さらに共変量を作成し、解析の準備を行った。当初の予定では4-way Decomposition analysisを用い、共変量を曝露・アウトカムの中間因子と仮定した解析を行う予定であったが、得られる共変量が中間因子でなく、曝露以前に確定する背景因子である可能性を考慮し、より適切な解析を行うために「共変量の有無が、曝露がアウトカムに与える影響をどう修飾するか」というメカニズムに着目し、加法モデルおよび乗法モデルによる効果修飾因子の解析を行った。その結果、障害の近親者暴力への因果効果を増強・減弱する共変量としていくつかの効果修飾因子が見つかった。さらに追加解析・感度解析を進めることで結果の妥当性を検証するとともに、発見された効果修飾因子のメカニズムの考察を進める予定である。
