The needs structure of families of critically ill patients admitted to an ICU where there is no limit to the time and number of visits

本研究采用半结构化访谈方式对24小时探视ICU的危重患者家属进行访谈，并对访谈内容进行定性和描述性分析，目的是构建无探视时间和次数限制ICU的危重患者家属需求。结果提取出以下类别：“我想接近病人”、“我想在我喜欢的时候见到病人”、“我不想有任何遗憾”、“ICU提供了一个舒适的地方”、“ICU保证我在那里是可以的”、“我可以自己决定是否接近病人”、“我可以自己决定何时离开”等。

In this study, semi-structured interviews were conducted on the families of critically ill patients admitted to an ICU which allows 24-hour visitation and interview content analyzed qualitatively and descriptively with the purpose of structuring the needs of families of critically ill patients admitted to an ICU where there is no limit to the time and number of visits. The following categories were extracted as a result: “I want to be close to the patient”, “I want to meet the patient when I feel like it”, “I do not want to have any regrets”, “the ICU provides a comfortable place”, “the ICU guarantees that it’s OK for me to be there”, “I can decide on my own whether to be close to the patient” and “I can decide on my own when to leave”, etc.
