英文摘要
baureka.online endeavours to develop a comprehensive web-based platform that fosters exchange in the field of Building Archaeology. Due to its object-oriented nature, Building Archaeology often focuses on single projects. Therefore, despite the newfound relevance of its methods as exemplified by the object-turn and despite its everyday use of digital tools, very few digital networks currently exist for such research. The research community lacks an online-platform that can employ semantic web technologies in order to unlock the potential of having access to digital data across multiple projects, make its highly successful work more visible in multidisciplinary contexts and foster synergetic effects between researchers, practicing conservationists, and architects. As a modularly conceived platform, baureka.online effectively responds to all of these demands. During the development of baureka.online’s central catalogue (baureka.index) and its archive for research data (baureka.storage), the community will continuously be encouraged to participate and review baureka.online’s progress. baureka.storage will supply and store primary research data and respective analyses, while baureka.index will link the platform with externally stored data and create a central portal for searches of Building Archaeology research data. As baureka.online progresses, a refinement or development of appropriate technologies will occur to meet the particular requirements of Building Archaeology. The increasing amount of datasets from digitally native building surveys demands the conception of a specific metadata schema and according interfaces. Such technologies would establish a new basis for the cooperative areas of research, conservation and planning, and could enhance current practices in the field of built cultural heritage. This is done in close cooperation with the emerging German National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI).
