Cultural Interaction and Identity of Europe

我们研究了现在和历史上欧洲多方面的文化状况，欧洲在政治、经济和文化领域正在经历一场彻底的变革，这是欧元货币引入的缩影。根据个人对欧洲国家的学术兴趣，我们进行了几项研究，共同探索欧洲的身份：是什么使它在1989年以来民族主义运动引发的动荡局势中成为一个统一。我们举办了一个由桥本教授主持的圈内研究会议，他的演讲题目是“新石器时代与对大地女神的崇拜”。2)西正彦教授的“约瑟夫·康拉德小说中单一语言的使用”的公开讲座。3)小林万教授的“欧洲的文化权及相关法律”的公开讲座。最后两位讲师被邀请了。作为像法国和德国这样的特定国家的研究人员，塑造一个共同的立场来分析欧洲的文化问题是一项具有挑战性的任务，我们相信这也是一个有益的项目。

We have investigated multi-faceted cultural conditions of the present and historical Europe, which has been undergoing a radical transformation in the fields of politics, economics and culture as is epitomized by the introduction ofEuro currency. According to the individual academic interest in the countries of Europe, we conducted several researches in a common quest for the identity of Europe : what make it a unity in a turbulent situation sparred by the nationalistic movements since 1989.We held1) an inter-circle study meeting hosted by Prof. Hashimoto, who lectured on "The Neolithic Era and the Cult of Earth Goddess."2) a public lecture "The use ofa single language in the novels of Joseph Conrad" by Professor Masahiko Nishi.3) and a public lecture 'The right of culture and related laws in Europe" by Professor Man Kobayashi.The last two lecturers were invited.Being a researcher of a specific country like France and Germany, it was a challenging task to shape a common standing to analyze cultural issues in Europe and we believe it was also a rewarding project.
