Study en Professor Santaro Okamatsu as a scholar and as a policy proposer

我们整理和编目了冈松图书馆赠送的书籍和文献，其中包括冈松横行文献182篇，书信799篇，桑塔罗留学文献580篇，德国商品目录86篇，笔记114篇，大学文献426篇，法律意见书183篇，手稿2336篇，台湾文献档案1967篇，南满铁路公司文献档案347篇，殖民地委员会文献11篇，立法文献93篇，丧葬文献1216篇等。2002年9月，我们访问了台湾的高等法院、地方法院和司法研究训练所，目的是研究他们在日本殖民统治下的法庭记录。我们可以证实，包括民事和刑事判决文件在内的各种法庭记录都保存在他们的档案库或图书馆里。我们认为必须采取有效措施保存这些法庭记录，因为它们没有得到很好的保存。为了将来的研究，我们相信为我们的后代保存这些法庭记录是我们的责任。我们将配合台湾国立大学王泰生教授将台中地方法院的庭审档案转换为数位档案。我们将根据日本殖民规则对法庭记录进行编目。此外，我们将在中华民国司法院的配合下，建议采取有效措施，在台湾保存并公开这些法庭记录。

We arranged and cataloged books and documents presented from the Library of the Okamatsus, including 182 documents of Okamatsu Yokoku, 799 letters, 580 documents on Santaro's study abroad, 86 commodity catalog at Germany, 114 notes, 426 documents of Universities, 183 legal opinions, 2,336 manuscripts, 1,967 documents and archives of Taiwan, 347 documents and archives of the South Manchurian Railroad Company, 11 documents of the Colonial Committee, 93 documents of legislation, 1216 funeral documents and others. In September, 2002, we visited the High Court, district courts and the Judicial Research and Training Institute in Taiwan, with the intention of researching on their court records under Japanese colonial rule. We could confirm that various kinds of court records including files of civil and criminal judgment documents were kept in their record stacks or libraries. We think we must take effective measures to keep these court records, because they were not in good state of preservation. For the sake of future study, we believe it to be our responsibility to preserve these court records for our descendants. We will cooperate and assist with Professor Wang Tay-sheng of Taiwan National University who converts court records of the District Court of Taichung into digital records. And we will undertake cataloging the court records under Japanese Colonial Rule. Furthermore, we will with the cooperation of the Judicial Yuan of ROC make a suggestion to take effective measures to keep and open to public these court records in Taiwan.
