(1)Realization of the high-speed virtual bronchoscopy and free real-time navigationVirtual endoscopy was now clinically using based on the recent development of three-dimensional image processing technology by digital volume data X-ray CT.However, its navigating performance on the display does not have enough speed compared to real optical endoscopy. We applied volume data of chest CT to UNIX dased workstation "ONIX 2", Silicon Graphics Incorporate (SGI) for more speedy virtual navigation. High-speed virtual bronchoscopy system was realized on ONIX2. Then one of the co-author Kensaku MORI developed new virtual endoscopy engine on the Windows based PC as a generally distributed operating system.
