第一回の国際会議「The 1st International Conference on Business and Technology Transfer ICBTT2002」を円滑に行うため、日本の国際会議委員と、招聘した外国人共同研究者と共同で予備的研究会を行うとともに会議のプログラム編成を行った。ICBTT2002では1日に41の講演を3室同時並行で行う。会議をできるだけ有意義なものにするため、各講演内容を検討し、講演内容によって全講演を次の3つのテーマに組分けし、会議参加者が各室を適宜移動して関連分野の講演を有機的に聴けるようにした。(1)Modern Business and Technology Transfer(近代における経営・技術移転)(2)Heavy Business and Technology Transfer(重工業における経営・技術移転)(3)Development Business and Technology Transfer(開発における経営・技術移転)また、多くの日本人参加者が予め全講演内容を容易に把握しておき、講演会を充実したものにするため、英語のアブストラクトを翻訳して翻訳集を作成した。この翻訳集はICBTT2002開催時に配布した。予備的研究会では本会議を英語で行うのを模して、英語による2つの講演を行った。即ち、John F.Wilson教授がアメリカとヨーロッパ間の経営・技術移転について、また、堤一郎氏が蒸気機関車に関する技術移転について講演した。

The 1st International Conference on Business and Technology Transfer ICBTT2002 was held in Japan. That is, Professor John F.Wilson gave a lecture on technology migration in the context of steam engine development.
