项目摘要

事前に準備していた藤原為家関係歌合資料の所在情報に基づき、国文学研究資料館・宮内庁書陵部など各地の国公私立図書館に赴き、未見の若干の資料について伝本調査を行うとともに、紙焼き写真ならびにリーダープリンター印画によって、主要な伝本を収集した。マイクロ化されてない伝本については、業者に委託して収集し、また自前の撮影によって補完し、従前に収集していた資料と併せ、必要な資料のすべてを収集した。5編の歌合ごとに最善の底本を選び、若干の校訂を加えつつ、まず基幹となる本文を作製した。底本は以下のとおりである。(1)河合社歌合寛元元年(今治市河野美術館蔵廬庵本)、(2)後嵯峨院仙洞十首歌合宝治元年(穂久邇文庫蔵本)、(3)影供歌合建長三年九月(穂久邇文庫蔵本)、(4)仙洞五首歌合(永青文庫蔵幽斎奥書本)、(5)亀山殿五首歌合文永二年九月十三夜(島原図書館蔵松平文庫本)。校訂本文とする作業に意外に時間を要したため、校本の作製は未完、目下継続中で、間もなく完了の見通しである。校訂本文を作製する過程で、歌合の場に密着して歌合本文を精読し、多くの知見を得ることができた。すなわち(1)では定家後の歌壇再編の渦中にあって、為家の置かれた立場と状況の困難さが顕著に現れており、その時期を通りこし(2)と(3)において漸く歌論らしきものを確立、歌壇の指導者としての自信と矜持を抱きはじめる。そして晩年の(4)(5)によって((5)は真観と為家がともに同じ難陳を記録していて、場の再現が容易である)、多弁の理論家真観のアクの強い性格と主張に敵対するには、相対的に多くを語らぬ為家の淡泊さを以てしては到底抗し難いこと、あわせて後嵯峨院の介入と指導が意外に大きかったことも確認できる。それらの知見を、次年度の研究ならびに研究成果としての論文につなげて行きたい。
