Traffic Control for Peer-to-Peer Networks in Heterogeneous Environment

我们研究了一种新的基于对等网络的内容分发系统，适用于异质网络环境。该系统包括流量控制和实时网络质量测量以及纯型对等网络体系结构，提出了一种新的主动测量方法ABDIS来估计通信网络路径上的可用带宽。然而，许多传统的主动测量方法/工具只能测量/估计可用带宽的平均值，而不能测量其分布。如果测量到平均可用带宽在短时间间隔内的分布，则这些信息对于网络管理、代理选择和端到端接纳控制都是有用的。我们提出了一种端到端的主动测量方法ABDIS，它可以估计网络路径上可用带宽的分布。ABDIS使用多个不同的速率探测器和参数匹配技术来估计分布。提出了一种基于非结构化对等网络的搜索消息转发方法。该方法将节点到节点的往返时间(RTT)作为节点之间的距离。提出的方法建立了一个虚场，每个对等点之间的距离在其中保持不变。它试图保持搜索消息在场上转发的方向。我们通过计算机仿真对该方法进行了评估，结果表明该方法能够显著降低网络流量。

We have investigated a new content delivery system based on peer-to-Peer networking for heterogeneous network environment. This proposed system consists on traffic control with real-time network quality measurement and pure-type peer-to-peer network architecture.We have proposed ABdis, a new active measurement method for estimating the available bandwidth on the communication network path. Many conventional active measurement methods/tools, however, can mea-sure/estimate only the average of the available bandwidth and cannot measure its distribution. If the distribution of average available bandwidth over short interval is measured, the information is useful for network management, proxy selection and end-to-end admission control. We propose an end-to-end active measurement method called ABdis which can estimate the distribution of the available bandwidth in a network path. ABdis uses multiple different rate probes and a parameter-matching technique for estimating distribution. Furthermore, we show experimental results by simulation.We have also proposed a search message forwarding method in an unstructured Peer-to-Peer network. The proposed method appreciates the RTT (Round Trip Time) from peers to peers as the distance between peers. The proposed method builds a virtual field in which the distance between each peer is maintained. It tries to maintain a direction of a search message forwarding on the field. We evaluated the proposed method by computer simulation and show that the proposed method can achieve magnificent reduction about network traffic.
