1.Effect analysis of natural ventilation utilizing void spaces(1)Effects of natural ventilation are measured in an office building where spaces are ventilated by opening outside air inlets on every floor and outlets at the top of stairwell. It is found that air change rate due to natural ventilation is one to two cycles per hour through the measurement of concentration of the tracer gas as well as the measurement of air velocity and pressure difference at the outside air inlets.(2)Air movement through the measured whole building were simulated solving the equations of air flow rate balance. The air change rate due to natural ventilation with opening area of 2m^2 on every floor can be expected to be seven cycles per hour.2.Simulation of outside air flow rate coming into high-rise atrium buildingsAn estimation method of average effective opening area at entrance doors affected by number of persons passing through the doors is proposed and the relationships between entrance effective opening area and outside air rate coming through entrance in five atrium buildings are clarified through simulations.
