本研究は、仏教が伝来、定着した６・７世紀を中心とする時期の古墳（副葬品）と、寺院（舎利荘厳具）という「モノ」に対する多角的検討から、飛鳥寺を嚆矢とする本格的寺院造営に至るまでの日本列島の仏教受容プロセスを具体的に描き出すことを目的とする。具体的には、Ⅰ.古墳時代初期仏教関連考古資料の抽出と分析、Ⅱ.飛鳥寺院出土舎利荘厳具の基礎資料化、Ⅲ.朝鮮半島の古墳（副葬品）、寺院（舎利荘厳具）との比較検討、という三つのサブプロジェクトを柱に据えて、研究を進めていく。日本考古学、朝鮮考古学、美術史、文化財科学など当該期のモノを対象とする複数分野の研究者が参画し、古墳（副葬品）の中に仏教公伝の同時代資料（初期仏教関連考古資料）を見いだすことで、『日本書紀』などの後代に成立した「文字」資料にもとづいて語られてきた、既存の日本列島初期仏教受容史の刷新と再構築を目指す。１年目となる本年度は、パソコンやカメラなど本研究の遂行に必要な機材を整備するとともに、Ⅰの核となる京都府湯舟坂2号墳出土品について出土品の実見を含めた遺物検討会と一般市民向けの成果報告会を実施したほか、先行する首長墳とされる須田平野古墳の測量調査を実施し、丹後半島川上谷川流域における初期仏教受容プロセスの解明に努めた。日本列島の初期仏教受容史を考える上でカギとなる馬具については、古墳時代中期における木製馬具生産や、古墳時代後期の装飾馬具と初期仏教美術などの関係性について検討をおこない、論考を発表した。Ⅱの核となる奈良県飛鳥寺塔心礎埋納品については、分担者、協力者を合わせた遺物検討会を実施し、整理作業に着手した。特に鎌倉時代に塔跡に再埋納された舎利容器について集中的に調査を進め、その成果の一部を発表した。Ⅲについてはコロナ禍が改善した年度末に研究代表者が訪韓し、現地の研究協力者と今後の調査の進め方について協議をおこなった。

This study focuses on the detailed description of ancient tombs (burial objects) and temples (temple furniture) in the central period of the 6th and 7th centuries. Specific, Ⅰ. Extraction and Analysis of Archaeological Data Related to Ancient Tombs in the Early Period Ⅱ. Basic digitization of tools unearthed in Asuka Temple III. A comparative study of ancient tombs and monasteries on the Korean Peninsula Japanese archaeology, Korean archaeology, art history, cultural and financial science, etc., refer to contemporary data (archaeological data related to early education) of a number of researchers from different fields during this period, including reference paintings, ancient tombs (burial objects), and the establishment of the "Japanese Book" and the "text" data, and refer to the updating and reconstruction of the existing early education and reception history of the Japanese archipelago. In 2001, the Ministry of Science and Technology conducted a survey of the necessary equipment for carrying out this research. The survey was conducted at the Yuzhouzaka Tomb No. 2 in Kyoto Prefecture. The results were reported to the general public. The Tanho Peninsula Kamiya River Basin was opened in the early stages of the war. A Study of the Relationship between the Early History of the Japanese Archipelago and the Early History of the Japanese Archipelago, including the Early History of the Japanese Archipelago and the Early History of the Japanese Archipelago.
