项目摘要

2022年度の発掘調査の目的は、一つが鉄器時代城壁外側の堆積土を発掘し土中に含まれるヒッタイト時代の遺物を収集することであり、もう一つが鉄器時代城壁内側の破壊されずに残ったヒッタイト時代層を調査することであった。城壁外側の発掘では大量のヒッタイト時代遺物が出土し、多くの印影とともに楔形文字粘土板文書小片が5点出土した。1点は解読不能であったが、2点がヒッタイト語で、もう2点はフリ語であり、これまでビュクリュカレ遺跡で発見された粘土板14点のうちフリ語粘土板片は6点となった。ヒッタイト帝国内でフリ語粘土板が出土している都市はボアズキョイ(ハットゥーシャ)、オルタキョイ(シャピヌワ)、そしてカヤルプナル(サムッハ)のみであり、これらの3都市はすべてヒッタイト王家が居住した都市として知られている。ビュクリュカレ遺跡出土のフリ語粘土板はすべて宗教儀礼文書であることがわかっているが、こうした文書はヒッタイト王/王妃によって執り行われたフリ宗教儀礼の際に用いられたとされ、ビュクリュカレ遺跡にヒッタイト王/王妃が居住、あるいは滞在し、フリ宗教儀礼を執り行ったことを示唆している。また2022年度に出土した粘土板は、ロンドン大学マーク・ウィーデン博士の研究によりその字体と様式からヒッタイトで見つかった最古のフリ語粘土板文書片の一つである可能性が高い。このことは、ビュクリュカレ遺跡ではヒッタイトでフリ語文書の出土する３つの時期すべてでフリ語粘土板が出土しており、首都ハットゥーシャと同調してフリの影響を受けていたことを示している。城壁内の発掘調査では、床面上から紀元前15世紀前後の印章が出土した建築遺構の調査を継続している。この遺構はトゥドゥハリヤI世がフリの王女と結婚することで、ヒッタイトがフリの影響を受けた時期に相当し、出土したフリ語粘土板文書と関連する建物と考えられる。
