本研究の目的は、数学研究用の数式処理システムの構築である。理工学用の数式処理システムが専ら初等代数に基づく大規模計算を主対象とするのに対して、数学用の数式処理システムは代数拡大体上での演算等、より高度な数学的演算までも必要とする。そこで、本研究分担者らはこれまで以下の研究を遂行した。1)ピュイズー級数の計算とその応用多変数多項式が与えられたとき、主変数に関する根を従変数に関する形式的べき級数あるいは分数べき級数として計算することを考える。多変数の場合を研究し、並列ヘンゼル構成法を使うことにより、全根を同時に計算する算法を考案した。この方法では、多変数多項式の根が従変数の全次数に関する部分べき級数で表される。この方法によって代数方程式を解くことによって解析接続およびリーマン面を計算機で具体的に計算する方法を考案した。またパラメータを含む行列の固有値、固有ベクトル、特異値分解行列等をパラメータに関するべき級数として表現する算法を考案した。2)近似多項式の表現近似多項式の簡単でかつその特徴を活かした表現方法を提案した。この表現方法によれば基本的な代数演算の算法が簡単に記述される。特に割り算の算法に置いては可能な限り結果の精度が保たれるという特徴を持っている。3)ヘッケ環の規約表現に関するW-グラフの計算ヘッケ代数の規約表現に対応するW-グラフをLascoux-Schuetzenbergerによる方法に基づいて計算するプログラムを作成し、これによってnが12までのW-グラフを求めた。
