Using optic nerve head components in multifocal electroretinogram, a depth analysis of pathological processes in the visual pathway was tried. Real-time fixation monitoring system was developed and built in the multifocal visual in-put system in order to relax the patient and facilitate the better fixation during the recordings. It also enabled the recording the fixation images of the tested eye. A stimulus geometry consisting of 37 stimulus hexagons, which is practical to be completed in clinic was applied to record multifocal electroretinogram.More than 150 cases contributed to this project Optic nerve head components (ONHCs) were extracted and compared to other clinical features in each case. ONHCs were severely reduced in eyes with optic atrophy and attenuated in nasal half of contralateral retina and in lateral half of ipsilateral retina in the patient with optic tract injury. However, in many cases ONHCs reduction was less sensitive than visual defects in static perimetry. Further researches are needed for optimization of ONHCs extraction.
