项目摘要

本研究は西アジア・イスラム圏の都市と他のアジア地域の都市、また非アジア地域の都市の史的発展を比較検討し、都市の通時的発展を考察するものである。併せてイスラムの都市性及びイスラム都市の概念を明確することを目的とする。この研究目的に即して、本年度、本班の研究者は他班の研究会、統括班主催の全体集会及び2回国際会護に出席し、それぞれの専門分野において研究を行ってきた。なお本班では3回の研究と公開講演会を開き、〈都市史の諸段階〉を解明する作業を進めた。以下、本班の研究会で発表された研究報告を紹介する。第1回研究会では〈フリドリッヒ・バルバロッサとイタリア諸都市〉(佐藤眞典)、〈岡藩城下町竹田の創設と発展をめぐって〉(後藤重巳)が報告され、イタリアと日本の都市との対比において、イスラム都市研究の方法と課題が検討された。第2回研究会では、〈日本の城下町プラン〉(矢守一彦)、〈シ-ラ-ズのマハッレ〉(小牧昌平)が報告されたが、前者は日本の城下町を都市プランから考察し、戦国期型(戦国時代)→総郭型(安土桃山時代)→内町外町型(慶長元和年間)→開放型(元禄時代以後)の発展段階を明らかにした。後者は18、19世紀のイランの都市のムスリム街区の実態を詳細に考察した。第3回研究会では、〈中国都市の発展の諸段階一天津の形成と発展〉(片岡一忠)、〈中央ヨ-ロッパにおける都市システムの発展〉(森川洋)が報告され、前者は天津が宋元時代→明代→清代→開港以後→1900年以後の5期の都市的発展を経たことを明らかにした。後者はドイツの都市システムを考察し、都市システムの形成期(12〜15世紀末)→発展期(16〜19世紀)→近代化による発展期(19世紀初〜第2次大戦)→現代都市(第2次大戦以後)に時期区分して詳細に究明した。以上の諸報告と討論を通じて、イスラムの都市性解明の作業が進んだ。
