研究代表者と分担者は、これまで奄美諸島が琉球・沖縄と歴史的・文化的にどのような関係にあったかということを研究テーマとしてきたが、本研究によってそれを発展的に継承することができた。奄美大島における琉球・沖縄時代の歴史的・民俗的文物の情報を資史料として発掘することができた。具体的に言うと、奄美大島における琉球方言資料として、奄美の伝承ことわざを数百項目採集することができ、その一部を専門誌に発表した(『国文学解釈と鑑賞』96年1月号所載)。また、奄美大島における近世の採集食糧の調査研究を行ない、その資料を収集し、その一部を専門誌に発表する予定である(『奄美の民具』第4号,96年4月刊)。その他、奄美の祭祀習俗の調査研究を行ない、琉球王朝時代のノロ祭祀の残存状況を把握した。文献史料も踏査し、奄美における近世文書の所在を把握した。そして物質文化をして、民具等も調査し、それを沖縄と比較することができた。総括班と協力し、奄美地元の研究者達と共同研究を行ない、有形、無形の研究蓄積を共有することができた。

The research representative shares the historical and cultural relations of Ryukyu Islands and the development of this research. Information on cultural relics of the Ryukyu and Okinawa eras in Amami Oshima A detailed list of the Ryukyu dialect data collected from Amami Oshima is contained in the January 1996 issue of the Chinese Literature Review. In addition, a survey of recent harvested food in Amami Oshima was conducted, and data were collected and a part of the project was scheduled to be published (Amami Civil Equipment No. 4, April 1996). To investigate and study the sacrificial customs of other countries and Amami, and to grasp the survival of sacrificial customs in Ryukyu Dynasty. Document historical materials step on the investigation, election beauty, the location of modern documents to grasp. A survey of material culture, civil appliances, etc., and a comparison of the two. All kinds of research activities, tangible and intangible, are jointly carried out by researchers in the United States.
