1952年に新中国の成立以来、国内の経済政策をめぐっての右派と左派との対立は、統計調査制度を大きく変化させている。その調査制度の変化は、データの精度だけでなく、データの公表の度合に大きく影響を及している。本研究は、この中国の統計調査制度とデータの精度との関連を吟味し、近年急速に公表されるようになった統計データの精度を消費・物価統計を中心にデータベースとして編成し、実証的に研究することを目的としている。さらにこのような統計調査に対する民衆の反応がどのようであるかを、同じ中国人社会の他地域、例えば台湾・香港などと比較し、民族的特質と政治体制の差との相互関係を吟味する。今年度の作業は、(1)これ迄の本研究分担者が個別になされた検討結果の持ち寄りと相互討論。(2)資料募集と現地調査、(3)ファイル編成とその分析に分けられる。(1)としては、研究代表者松田の「中国経済統計方法論」(1987年刊)で析出された命題のその後の時点への拡張を、1985年工業センサスと1982年人口センサスとの比較で行った。(日本統計学会第56回大会報告)。また分担研究者は、1986年実施のこれ迄行った中国農村調査の調査結果を取りまとめた。(本年度報告書に収録。)(2)としては、本研究の経費によらないが、松田が、シンガポール・インドネシア・タイの華人社会を含む家計調査の実施実態の調査を行い、田島が北京中国社会科学院で資料収集を、浜下が香港の統計調査制度の実態調査を行った。(浜下の調査結果は、本年度報告書に収録、また田島の収集した資料に基き、松田は、これ迄十分明らかでなかった1954年の中国の農家家計調査の実態を明らかにした。(3)ファイルとしては、田島の収集した新資料に基づく農家家計統計データ・ファイルを新規編成した。
