平成28年度は終末期がん患者の食事／栄養サポートにおける訪問看護師の支援の実際と困難の解明に取り組んだ。1）質問紙の作成：先行研究結果を基に研究メンバーで内容を検討した結果、「患者の栄養状態を把握することに関する困難」「患者の栄養状態を改善する方法の選択と実施に関する困難」「食事に対する患者や家族のニーズを把握することに関する困難」「食事に対する患者や家族のニーズを充足することに関する困難」「患者の栄養状態を把握するための専門家・他職種との連携に関する困難」「食事／栄養サポートにおいて大切にしていることや工夫」等の項目に決定した。2）全国質問紙調査：終末期がん患者を多く担当する訪問看護ステーションに勤務する訪問看護師50名に質問紙調査を行うことを計画していたが、実施には至っていない。
