The purposes of this study are to develop steel slab which is superior in vibration reduction effect and noise reduction effect. Rigid urethane is introduced as a damping material and the reduction effect of rigid urethane on local vibration and noise in steel slab are investigated. Outlines of the research result are as follows.1. Impact tests were carried out on the composite plates which were consisted of steel plate and rigid urethane. The damping constants of the composite plates and the rigid urethane were estimated. In addition, the relationship between thickness and the damping constant of the rigid urethane was clarified. Moreover, elastic impact behaviors of the composite plates were calculated by applying the discrete model which is composed of the finite strip method and the finite prism method, and the validity of the analytical method was examined.2. Natural vibration analysis and stationary vibration analysis of the composite plates were carried out. Then, the local vibration characteristics and the vibration reduction mechanism were clarified. In addition, noise reduction effect of rigid urethane was also clarified by computing the power of the vibration velocity of the surfaces of composite plates.3. Natural vibration analysis of the plate girder which was filled with rigid urethane was carried out, and the vibration characteristics of the independent modes of the rigid urethane were mainly investigated. Furthermore, the effects of the material properties of rigid urethane were also examined, and the boundary frequencies in which the independent modes of the rigid urethane occurred were clarified4. The dynamic response analysis under traveling load was carried out on steel box girder which was filled with rigid urethane. The effect of the rigid urethane on the response magnification factor was examined.
