本研究は自閉症児のコミュニケーション障害を対人認知機能の形成とその障害と言う視点から(1)ホームビデオ記録を利用した発達早期自閉症児の表情表出、対人的応答、共同注意の特徴の解析、(2)事象関連電位による自閉症児の顔及び表情識別過程の解析、をそれぞれ行い、自閉症児のコミュニケーション能力の形成とその障害をモデル化しようとして企画された。本年度は(1)ホームビデオ記録を利用した発達早期自閉症児の表情表出、対人的応答、共同注意の特徴の解析、を中心にデータ収集を行い、あわせて(2)事象関連電位による自閉症児の顔及び表情識別過程の解析、の比較データとなる健常者の事象関連電位記録を行った。(1)では乳児期後半期から1歳台にかけて自閉症児では対人的応答や、共同注意に健常児と異なる特徴が現れ始め親や関係者はその時点では自閉症の早期兆候とは気付きにくいことが明かとなった。これは情動共有機能の形成の困難の現れと推測された。(2)では健常者の個人識別、ならびに表情識別課題において反応時間と事象関連電位の双方に明瞭な笑顔効果が認められた。従ってこれを利用して自閉症児・者の対人認知機能を他覚的に評価することが可能と考えられた。
