2014年7月～9月にかけて、カメルーン共和国東部州の地方都市L市近郊に点在するピグミー系狩猟採集民Baka族の定住集落4村にて現地調査を行った。2012～2014年の各2－3月において得られた縦断的センサス情報から、対象とした4村においてはこの3年間で人口が自然増加傾向にあることが明らかになった（自然増加率：29.8－29.9／人口1,000人対比）。de jure人口は全体的に減少傾向にあったが（594→589→581人）、これは社会的要因による人口流出が原因と考えられた。家系図調査から出生力の世代間比較を行った。自身と子孫世代の婚姻出産状況によって、再構築された家系図内に登場した女性を4群（各世代はおよそ15年間隔）に分類した。いずれの年代においても自然人口増加のポテンシャルは高く、一世代を超えるごとに人口が2－3倍に、単年の自然人口増加率に換算すると0.041～0.051程度ほどと算出された。前年度に算出された平均完結パリティ（5.03±3.05人：n = 295、1940～1990年代に出生し、現在20～70代の女性）を用いると、本集団における結婚前までの死亡率が比較的低いことが予測される。身長・体重・上腕囲・皮下脂肪厚の計測と、体格体組成指標の算出から対象集団の栄養状態を評価した。80％の成人男女のBMIが「標準」的と判定され、やせに分類されたものは全体の15％ほどであった。子ども集団においては成長・身体発達にかんする国際レファレンス（CDC2000）と比較した。本対象集団の子どもたちは個人の身長に対して十分な体重を有して、また身長に対する上腕筋面積のZ-scoreから、米国同身長の子どもとほぼ同程度の上腕筋肉量を有していると示唆された。これらのことから、ピグミー系狩猟採集民Baka族の子どもたちにおける栄養状態は比較的良好であると推測された。

From July to September 2014, a field survey was conducted in the suburbs of L City, a local city in Kasai Province, Republic of China. In February and March of 2012 - 2014, the population increased naturally (natural increase rate: 29.8-29.9/population: 1,000). The population tends to decrease as a whole (594→589→581), and the main causes of population outflow are examined. Family surveys were conducted to compare fertility between generations. The birth status of the offspring is classified into four groups (each generation is separated by 15 years). In the middle of the year, the natural population growth rate is calculated from 0.041 to 0.051. The average death rate calculated in the previous year (5.03±3.05 people: n = 295, women born in the 1940s to 1990s, and now in the 20th to 70th generations) is used, and the group's mortality rate before marriage is expected to be relatively low. Measurement of body length, body weight, upper wrist, subcutaneous fat thickness, calculation of body composition index, evaluation of nutritional status of image collection 80% of adult men and women are classified as "standard" and 15% of them are classified as "standard".
